Miya Maysent is the VP of Talent Development and Diversity for JCPenney. In this role, she is responsible for leading teams who support Associate education and growth from front line store associates to Officer and executive development. In addition, Miya is responsible for the Organizational Development team which provides performance management, talent planning, change management and associate engagement support. And the final area that falls into Miya’s responsibility is ensuring Inclusion and Diversity initiatives are supported and sustained across the organization. This includes diversity education, talent planning, community outreach, supplier diversity & corporate social responsibility. Prior to joining JCPenney, Miya held similar roles with 7-Eleven, Inc for 5 years and with Valero Energy Corporation for 8 years. She began her career in consulting with a focus on Change Management, Executive Selection, Education and Coaching. Miya’s education is from UT Austin, with a Bachelors in Psychology and two Masters from University of North Texas in Counseling Psychology and Industrial Psychology. Miya’s other job is being mom to Emily, 16 and Robbie 19.
