Denise C. McWatters is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary of HollyFrontier Corporation (NYSE: HFC) and Holly Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: HEP). HollyFrontier Corporation, a Fortune 300 Company, is an independent energy company engaged in crude oil refining and wholesale marketing of refined petroleum products. Holly Energy Partners, L.P. is a Master Limited Partnership which owns and operates petroleum product and crude oil pipelines and terminal, tankage and loading rack facilities.

Ms. McWatters joined HFC and HEP in October 2007 as Deputy General Counsel. In May 2008, she was named Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of HFC and HEP and assumed oversight for all legal matters for both companies and their subsidiaries. On January 1, 2013, she was named Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary of HFC and HEP.

Prior to joining HFC and HEP, Ms. McWatters served as General Counsel and chair of the Risk Council of The Beck Group, a large general construction, architecture and development company. Prior to joining Beck, Ms. McWatters was a shareholder in two prominent law firms and served in the legal department at Citigroup.

Ms. McWatters received her B.S. (1980, Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa) and M.A. (1981) from Southern Methodist University, and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in 1984. Ms. McWatters has served on the SMU Corporate Counsel Symposium Board of Advisors since 2009.
