Elena Y. Heard is currently Vice President of Human Resources at Denton Regional Medical Center. Elena has 17 years of experience in the workforce, and has been a part of her current organization for almost five years. She also runs a photography business with her closest friend and serves as a “Jane-Of-All-Trades” for their business. Elena has a passion for serving others and is a participating member of Spirit Life Church International, where she volunteers in Finance and in the Music Ministry as a vocalist and the Children’s Ensemble Director. She also volunteers with United Way, the American Heart Association, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. While she volunteers and works hard, she finds time for hobbies which include reading, Zumba, western horseback riding, singing classically in holiday concerts for another local church, and yes, even video games.

Elena holds Master’s Degrees in two concentrations: Human Resources Management and Healthcare Management. She is also SPHR and SHRM-SCP certified. She takes pride in applying her human resources expertise and her love of life to her role as a Human Resources professional and to the organizational and strategic needs of her industry.
