Whitney Shelley is Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Denbury Resources, one of the largest oil-focused independent oil companies in the U.S. In this role, she leads the team responsible for the strategic direction of the organization as it relates to their U.S. based employees. During her time with the organization, Denbury has been voted by their employees as one of Dallas’ Best Places To Work for seven consecutive years.

Whitney Shelley has 20 years of experience holding various senior positions in Human Resources with a focus on Mergers & Acquisitions, Organizational Development and building world class HR organizations. She was recently recognized as one of the 2016 Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Oil and Gas by the National Diversity Council for the third consecutive year and the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce’s Human Resources Professional of the Year.

Ms. Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science from The University of North Texas where she graduated Cum Laude. She is a Certified Microsoft Systems Engineer and PDI Executive Coach. She is an advisory council member for Sci-Tech Science Discover Center and is a mentor for the Professional Leadership Program at the University of North Texas as well as a member of the Executive Women’s Roundtable.
